Kris Harsh is a councilman, not a housing inspector, and no law gave him the authority to send violation notices to Ward 13’s property owners

CLEVELAND, OH – Ward 13 and new Ward 4 Councilman Kris Harsh has taken it upon himself to impersonate a housing inspector, threaten property owners with enforcement of criminal housing codes and is interfering with the due process rights of Cleveland home and property owners — all while reporters unfamiliar with the laws he’s violating cheer him on. Harsh, a former nonprofit housing advocate, shared a June 25, 2025 news release explaining how he’d driven the ward he represents and inspected 8507 properties.  He confessed to using the U.S. Postal Services and public funds to mail 1845 letters to property…

County landbank gifted Austin a free house valued at $17,500 while he campaigned to join East Cleveland city council

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cuyahoga County Land Reutilization Corporation (CCLRC) quit-claimed a free home addressed at 12600 Speedway Overlook to East Cleveland city council candidate Timothy Ray Austin on September 25, 2023.  The property exchange occurred 43 days before the general election in which Austin defeated incumbent Ward 2 Councilwoman Juanita Gowdy on November 7, 2023. Gowdy had dually served as council’s president and had been raising questions about the CCLRC’s legislative requests after one of its officials offered a council employee a bribe to place its legislation on the agenda.  Austin appeared to be the CCLRC-backed replacement candidate.  He…

Smedley used his job with Mayor King to seek an annual $250,000 in bribes from 2 brothers conning foreign investors out of $10 million

EAST CLEVELAND, OH – It is obvious in reading the 69-page federal indictment of Michael Smedley, 56, Zubair Mehmet Abdur Razzaq Al Zubair, 41, and his brother Muzzammil Muhammad Al Zubair, 30, that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) special agents had an intimate level of knowledge about the organized criminals.  Evidence includes numerous text messages, email, wire transfers of funds, receipts, letters, contracts, expensive Cleveland Browns loge and game tickets, Euclid police investigatory records, IRS records and what appears to be detailed conversations with cooperating witnesses. $10 million was on the table. Blaine Griffin’s election as Cleveland council president puts Justin Bibb with a potential competitor who didn’t endorse him; and who won’t be his rubber stamp

In 2013 Blaine Griffin was serving as the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party's vice chairman when elections board officials learned Jane Platten and Brent Lawler had allowed over 67 candidates to enter offices in violation of Section 3517.11(D) of the Ohio Revised Code. As Council President-elect Griffin predicted, ex-Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty took no actions to enforce Title 35 as written since he would have been required to prosecute officials like Ed Fitzgerald, Frank Jackson and Judges like Deena Calabrese or even Joan Synenberg. Griffin has since learned that council can enforce the election law provisions in Cleveland's charter.

CLEVELAND, OH – The official vote for President of Cleveland city council doesn’t come until January 3, 2022.  Chapter 5 and Section 30 of Cleveland’s Charter sets the first regular meeting in January after a municipal election as its date of occurrence. In Cleveland incumbent returning council members “caucus” with newly-elected legislators after a municipal election before the first regular meeting in January to decide who among them should preside over the legislative body as president.  On November 5, 2021 the non-binding vote for Blaine Griffin was unanimous. The vote trashed a former unspoken “rule” that if an American Negro…

Blaine Griffin and Jasmine Santana took the trip to Israel and she returned with a desire to implement its extermination-minded economic development plans in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH – When Ward 14 Councilwoman Jasmine Santana accepted the Cleveland Jewish Federation’s Logan Act and Espionage Act violating trip to Palestine, as arranged by Thomas and Joann Adler’s Civil Leadership Mission to Israel, she returned gushing over how “amazing” she found the racistly-apartheid “Jewish state.”  The Hispanic Cleveland politician found two foreign programs she learned of there to be “fascinating” and implementable in Cleveland. According to Santana, Israel’s approaches to economic and community development were “innovative.”  She must not have counted the Palestinians whose stolen homes are part of its “community development” effort among those “at risk and…
