Not even beggars or the homeless are going to dead-azz downtown Cleveland at night

CLEVELAND, OH – The statue of the late Cleveland Mayor Tom Johnson seated at the edge of Public Square in my feature photo overlooks the land and all its tax-dollar depleted emptiness.

Governor Richard Michael DeWine led reckless elected officials like Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and the Kevin Kelly-led Cleveland city council to create this budget-draining lunacy when ex-Ohio health director Amy Stearns-Acton lied the state into a panic; and they unconstitutionally shut down the city’s economy during the common cold and flu season of 2020.  Some of these political idiots are still wearing masks.

Zan Zibar struggles to hold on with other dying or dead Cleveland restaurants because of Governor Richard Michael DeWine and Mayor Frank Jackson’s 10 p.m. closing shit during the common cold and flu season. This shit’s insane as these derelict elected officials recklessly incur budget deficits and exceed the duties of public offices while violating consitutional rights. Jail. Not re-election. Long sentences, too, for the misery they’ve caused. No open businesses. No fucking tax dollars you gotdamned fools!!!!!

Cleveland downtown is dead.  It’s not returning as a “destination Cleveland” location because of the mask and social distancing shit.  Dewine and his ex-quack director of health, so-called Dr. Amy Stearns-Acton, panicked everyone into being afraid to breathe and cough around each other.

$300 million was stolen from Cleveland taxpayers to renovate the Cavaliers arena for Lebron James by vote-suppressing Commie anarchist Kelly, the council’s president, for nothing.  James split.  The arena’s empty and dead.

I have walked every area of downtown where the spaces are public and open during my Guardian Angel safety patrol days from 1981 – 1983.  I have NEVER seen downtown Cleveland so empty of people except during the scare in 2001 when a foreign nation’s agents flew airplanes into the World Trade Center’s twin towers and killed over 3000 men and women.

I recently walked from 9th and Superior to Public Square and up Euclid Avenue to 9th Street and walked across to Prospect back to Public Square and nobody was on the sidewalks.  This was between 11 p.m. and midnight.

Parking revenue. Wiped the fuck out thanks to Mayor Frank Jackson following that lying azzed Governor Richard Michael DeWine’s “orders” instead of the state’s 26 pandemic mitigating laws I know he did not read. The first time he learned the actual duties of municipal police departments under R.C. 737.11 was when I showed it to him on my cell phone in his office and had him read it.

All the Community Development Block Grant money stolen from the majority east side poor neighborhoods for downtown is wasted.  The closed businesses are not returning to a city whose mayor, council and county executive killed it by recklessly failing to read and obey the state’s 26 pandemic mitigating laws that did not include words like masks and social distancing.

Downtown will be even more empty going forward as every unit of government relying on tax dollars from the businesses and workers Dewine, Jackson, Armond Budish and Kelly recklessly drove into financial ruin results in massive government worker layoffs.   Cleveland’s got to cut it’s budget by at least 30 percent.  Maybe 40 percent.  The same with the county, RTA and the state.

All these six figure political “best mind” dummies didn’t think they were killing their pensions with this “economy closing” lunacy.  I’ll campaign against any tax increase … aggressively.  Fuck you bastards!

The hotel money city hall “used” to collect is gone. So is the parking ticket money from the meter maids whose jobs are about to be gone. Cops are going, too, as massive layoffs will affect thousands of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County government workers. Enjoy your economy closing stay at home shit. Don’t think we’re raising taxes to cover your fucking six figure pensions.

Blaine Griffin couldn’t recite the first three words of the U.S. Constitution after being administered oaths of office three times to uphold it.  “We the people …”  Asking him to add the other 6 words before the comma was too much.  “…of the United States of America.”  He got his moratorium on dollars stores.  Now the city has no stores.

No people. No cars. No open businesses. No mutha fuckin’ tax dollars for local governments. Bye fools. You deserve unemployment. Wait a minute. That shit might be dried up, too. Uh oh! Stock up on rice and beans. America is headed for a Depression thanks to the reckless dummies in political offices.

Griffin and many of the city’s elected “leaders” wouldn’t have a career if it wasn’t for politics as they have no or less-than-skilled job skills like most of the city’s elected “leaders.”

Mike Polensek pumped gas.  Joe Jones worked in a mail room before wanting to join the “millionaire’s club” in politics sent him to prison.  Kevin Kelly was a Jesuit volunteer.

With “marketing companies” adding their two cents to the mask and social distancing confusion politicians and their conflicting “orders” have created the “broke” public’s staying home. Cleveland downtown is dead. The House of Blues is dead. Everything around downtown is dead.

Jeff Johnson’s an attorney in license only.  There’s no U.S. Supreme Court case he’s argued like the late U.S. Representative and attorney Louis Stokes did with his Terry v. Ohio case.  No government job and Jeff’s ass is broke.  He’s lucky his wife’s got money and Mona Scott hired him.  Pension.  Highest three years.  That’s his sole reason for being in government and he did not return to his home in Glenville.  Dude lied and stole two years of wages from Cleveland.  Highest three years.  Straight up lying azzed thief.

Armond Budish is an attorney who handled retirement shit for old people.  It’s a big jump in thinking for folk like this to manage and legislate for 5000 to 7000 workers . Frank Jackson’s a Max Hayes graduate and a career city worker who employees elected to represent them; not us.

Every elected and appointed official in Ohio is required to be administered an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution I know these idiots haven’t read. So the idea of them reading the Commerce Clause giving only Congress the authority to regulate commerce, these anarchists violated, is beyond their level of curve graded comprehension. Section 8: Powers of Congress The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; To borrow Money on the credit of the United States; To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes …” Congress didn’t shut down Ohio’s commerce. President Donald Trump did not shut down Ohio’s commerce. Governor Richard Michael DeWine, a fucking liar, shut down Ohio’s commerce with the help of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish … here. This is the result of citizens of the United States of America electing the most constitutionally defective and intellectually ill-equipped anarchist and Communist-thinking candidates to elected offices.

During the 1980’s I organized Curtis Sliwa’s Guardian Angel chapters in Cleveland, Columbus and Youngstown Ohio with over 300 safety patrol volunteers to make the 250,000 people living and tworking downtown and those in the other cities feel safer.  We were there to assist in times of trouble.  Prior to that I worked the night shift at the Justice Center for the Cleveland Press daily newspaper as a police beat reporter.

Downtown up until the late Cleveland Mayor George Voinovich’s push to make it a “destination location” that returned the Cavaliers to Cleveland instead of Richfield, Coliseum near Akron was a place for workers and nearby residents to shop.  It was big retail mall that included street vendors on sidewalks until small business-killing Voinovich and council drove them out.  Eastern European “selectivism.”

The emptiest streets in Northeast Ohio are in downtown Cleveland.

The big stores didn’t like all the American Negro merchants with vendors licenses selling items on public sidewalks in front of their stores.  These “selective-azzed fools” didn’t realize they were attracting extra customers when the Communist-thinking politicians on city council modified the vendors license ordinance to exclude them.  Now all downtown is good for his sidewalk merchants.

Clevelanders in part were glad to see the Cavaliers leave the city for Richfield.   We didn’t want all the “extra” people in the city; and we wanted our neighborhoods, and not downtown, invested in to ensure the city’s economic stability was spread out over all of it instead of just favored sections.

Where’s Lebron? Los Angeles.

A socially-distanced casino doesn’t attract gamblers who park cars downtown, ride buses, eat at restaurants, drink liquor and attend events that all generate “tax dollars” to cover six figure government worker wages and their six figure double-dipping pensions. Did they not realize they were putting their retirements in jeopardy by following a lying nut like Governor Richard Michael DeWine?
East 4th Street is dead around 11 p.m.

Nearly $300 million in taxpayer money was stolen from Clevelanders to renovate the Quicken Loans Arena when anarchist Cleveland council President Kevin Kelly obstructed petition drive that resulted in a deal being cut with Shaker Heights resident Rev. Jawonza Colvin of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church to withdraw it.

22,000 city voters found their vote suppressed so their money could be stolen and wasted to renovate the Quicken Loans Arena for the Cavaliers basketball team Lebron James left for Los Angeles.  It’s empty.  So is everything else in downtown Cleveland at night and that includes the streets and sidewalks around Jack’s Casino and the $50 million renovated Public Square.

I read where the idiots on Cleveland’s planning commission voted to let a developer turn the old Hippodrome site that’s now a parking lot into a 300 unit apartment building.  Heinen’s the supermarket closed a block away.

Downtown residents “temporarily” have nowhere to shop for food.

There’s no grocery store left to feed current downtown Cleveland residents as Heinen’s is “termporarily” closed.

Downtown Cleveland as it exists today is for skateboarders and the few remaining night time workers.  You can find more people in an east side gas station parking lot than downtown Cleveland.

With no one riding RTA’s buses expect layoffs to come soon.

Bar Louie’s is closed.  The Warehouse district is wiped out.  The foreign students housing was built for using money earmarked for the city’s neighborhoods won’t be returning.

President Donald Trump’s administration through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security won’t let the 1.1 million foreign students taking that many college educational opportunities away from natural born Americans study remotely.  They’ll either return to the U.S. or lose their visas.  Since DeWine and Stearns-Acton has the world convinced Ohioans are some nasty-azzed virus spreaders, foreigners now don’t want to be around this nation’s natural born citizens.

Imagine Euclid Avenue from Public Square to 9th Street and not a single person is walking anywhere on the street between 11 p.m. and midnight.

Since the coronavirus the majority of cars downtown at night belong to workers who’ve chosen not to “mask ride” on now empty buses.  With so few businesses open at night even the parking lots that once made money off them and visitors are empty.

The entire economic engine that contributed to the city of Cleveland’s $2.5 billion “full” budget is wiped out; and possibly will never return.  Cleveland looks like it’s done as a city as the “best minds” leading it are the ones who killed it.  As the city’s now dead economy is an example of their “best thinking,” there’s no hope for even better leadership coming from a community whose curve-graded politicians still act as if a score of 50 is an “A.”

Bar Louie’s in the Warehouse District moved out. So did most of the bars and restaurants that once made this area a happening spot. During the 1970’s and 80’s Bar Louie’s was once a porn shop. The kitchen was where peep shows once existed and dirty old and young men fucked around with each other. A place for all the seedy shit that once existed downtown is about all it’s going to be in the future.

Eric Jonathan Brewer

Cleveland's most influential journalist and East Cleveland's most successful mayor is an East Saint Louis, Illinois native whose father led the city's petition drive in 1969 to elect the first black mayor in 1971. Eric is an old-school investigative reporter whose 40-year body of editorial work has been demonstrably effective. No local journalist is feared or respected more.

Trained in newspaper publishing by the legendary Call & Post Publisher William Otis Walker in 1978 when it was the nation's 5th largest Black-owned publication, Eric has published and edited 13 local, regional and statewide publications across Ohio. Adding to his publishing and reporting resume is Eric's career in government. Eric served as the city's highest paid part-time Special Assistant to ex-Cleveland Mayor Michael R. White. He served as Chief of Staff to ex-East Cleveland Mayor Emmanuel Onunwor; and Chief of Communications to the late George James in his capacity as the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority's first Black executive director. Eric was appointed to serve as a member of the state's Financial Planning & Supervision Commission to guide the East Cleveland school district out of fiscal emergency and $20 million deficit. Former U.S. HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson told Eric in his D.C. office he was the only mayor in the nation simultaneously-managing a municipal block grant program. Eric wrote the city's $2.2 million Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant application. A HUD Inspector General audit of his management of the block grant program resulted in "zero" audit findings.

As a newspaper publisher, Eric has used his insider's detailed knowledge of government and his publications to lead the FBI and state prosecutors to investigations that resulted in criminal prosecutions of well-known elected officials in Ohio; and have helped realign Cleveland's political landscape with the defeat of candidates and issues he's exposed. Eric's stories led to the indictments of the late Governor George Voinovich's brother, Paul Voinovich of the V Group, and four associates. He asked the FBI to investigate the mayor he'd served as chief of staff for public corruption; and testified in three federal trials for the prosecution. He forced former Cuyahoga County Coroner Dr. Elizabeth Balraj to admit her investigations of police killings were fraudulent; and to issue notices to local police that her investigators would control police killing investigations. Eric's current work has resulted in Cuyahoga County Judge John Russo accepting the criminal complaint he guided an activist to file against 24 civil rights-violating police officers in the city he once led for operating without valid peace officer credentials. USA Today reporters picked up on Eric's police credentials reporting from his social media page and made it national.

Eric is the author of of his first book, "Fight Police License Plate Spying," which examines the FBI and local police misuse of the National Crime Information Center criminal records history database. An accomplished trumpet player and singer whose friendship with Duke Fakir of the Four Tops resulted in his singing the show's closing song, "Can't Help Myself": Curtis Sliwa of New York's Guardian Angels counts Eric among his founding chapter leaders from the early 1980's role as an Ohio organizer of over 300 volunteer crime fighters in Cleveland, Columbus and Youngstown, Ohio. For his work as a young man Eric was recognized by Cleveland's Urban League as it's 1983 Young Man of the Year.

Known in Cleveland for his encyclopedic knowledge of government and history, and intimately-connected with the region's players, every local major media outlet in Cleveland has picked up on one of Eric's stories since 1979. There is no mainstream newspaper, television or radio outlet in Cleveland that does not include an interview with Eric Jonathan Brewer in its archives over the past 40 years.
