Cleveland’s latest Catholic Bishop came from PA where priestly “man boy love” lifestyles like indicted 91-year-old Cardinal McCarrick’s were out of control

Honored in Cleveland and sued in Greensburg, the Catholic church followed the same practice the Popes have been criticized for in how the Vatican handles sex scandals by transferring Bishop Edward Malesic away from his troubles and litigation

CLEVELAND, OH – Cardinal Theodore McCarrick started having sex with James Grein when the boy was 11 years of age.  He didn’t stop for the next 18 years.  Grein is now an adult and in interviews admits he had no idea what to say to a family whose leadership told him to trust the Catholic priest as being a Godly man; and who had made the unindicted sexual predator a member of their family.

If the Cleveland Diocese’s latest Bishop, Edward Malesic, has studied his ecclesiastical history he remembers learning of the Protestant Reformation the Catholic church countered with the Catholic Reformation that led to sentences of death by the secular churches for heretics. Martin Luther published his 95 Theses in 1517 and criticized the Catholic church for accepting cash or indulgences as a ticket to heaven. Martin Luther believed that to repent sin throughout one’s life, and not to live a sinful life and try to buy your way out of purgatory or hell, more closely followed the teachings of Jesus the Christ or Yeshua. Because it contradicted the Vatican Eastern “heretics” were fined and slaughtered into rejecting rejecting being a Protestant, a Jew or any other faith or belief they held that contradicted with the Catholic church. Martin Luther wanted a discussion. Not another holocaust. Today the inquisition is Cleveland’s Irish Catholic prosecuting attorneys sending Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, Muslims and Jews to jail for the same sex offenses ex-prosecutor William D. Mason asked Judge Brian Corrigan to seal at the request of Bishop Anthony Pilla to protect 496 Catholic sex offenders. Coverup is not reform and 500 years of replacing “criminal investigations” with “church investigations” is enough. Catholic sex offenders have no immunity to be afforded special immunities from criminan prosecutions because the prosecutor shares their religion. Prosecutors who evoke any form of “religious supremacy” should be exposed and removed from all American elected offices.

McCarrick lied to Pope John Paul II or “the Holy See” of the Catholic church about his relationship with Grein and every other boy who’d trusted him.  When the Pope learned of credible accusations, despite knowing McCarrick had been accused often, he acted to remove him from the position he had appointed him to as the Archbishop of Washington, D.C.   The Holy See had been deceived.

That’s the essence of the 461-page detailed “Report on the Holy See’s institutional knowledge and decision-making related to former Cardinal Theodore Edgar McCarrick” from 1930 until 2017.  The report’s title expresses its intent to focus on the “institutional knowledge” Pope John Paul II and past pope’s specifically had in writing about homosexual predator McCarrick’s infiltration of Catholic families to gain access to their juvenile sons.

The Holy See, John Paul II, was cleared.  He, personally, did not possess any written “institutional knowledge” of the falsity of McCarrick’s claim that he’d never had sex with anyone in his life.  McCarrick had only been devoted to God instead of his dick.  That’s what John Paul II the Great believed.  His “Greatness” according to the 461 page report is intact.

If he makes it to his birthday on July 7, 2021 McCarrick will be 91 having been born in 1930.  According to the Vatican’s report he’s lived a long life of lies as he faces criminal charges for his sins of the past in the State of Massachussetts this late in the “life game.”   He’s charged with three counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14.

A spiritual friend who’s sat with dying people has watched them relive their entire lives in their last moments.  Every joy, every shame and every horror is relived in those final days, hours, minutes and seconds.  The unfaithful McCarrick will get to see his lies and deceptions all over again.  As a priest McCarrick should have administered the “last rites” at the bedsides of hundreds of dying Catholics.  He knows.

Pope John Paul II is dead and the Vatican’s report seemed to focus only on clearing the idea that he knew and did nothing about the sexually-depraved abuses Bishops, Cardinals and priests committed against the Catholic faithful during his papacy from 1978 until his death in 2005.  For 461 pages not a word of the report released on November 10, 2020 addresses the 1000 cases of child molestation Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro investigated; or the 496 Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Brian Corrigan sealed at the request of ex-prosecuting attorney William D. Mason.  The Pennsylvania Catholic priest who trained K-12 aged boys for oral sex didn’t have to worry.

The Vatican’s white wash also ignores the sex crimes hidden with the aid of religiously-loyal Catholic judges, prosecutors and law enforcement officers like those in Cuyahoga County.  Instead of removing the offending Catholic officials from the church, Holy Sees like John Paul II reassigned them to other parrishes and dioceses … globally.

In his 887 report, Shaprio in July 2018 presented evidence to the Pennsylvania grand jury of offenses associated with over 1000 sex crimes in the state.  Over 331 living and dead Catholic officials were identified as sex criminals.  Grein and his attorney have led the way in filing civil claims against the Catholic church and demanding an apology from the conceal-minded bishops.

By focusing exclusively on one Catholic church priest “sinner,” and not the thousands of them across the Catholic kingdom, the report ignored all the unreported crimes Catholic officials committed and then concealed under “church law.”

The Cleveland Diocese’s latest Bishop, Edward Malesic, is one who’s been reassigned from a troubled diocese in Pennsylvania.  Greensburg.  Malesic spent his entire career in Pennsylvania from his ordination on May 30, 1987 until July 16, 2020 when he was reassigned out of Pennsylvania to Cleveland.  He was installed over the Cleveland Diocese on September 14, 2020.

Malesic’s transfer to Cleveland came within one month of his being sued along with Cardinal Donald Wuerl on June 22, 2020.  The suit alleged that Rev. Joseph L. Sredzinski, who served in Fayette County and died in 2015, sexually abused him beginning in 1991, when he was 11 years old, until he was 17.  Malesic will have to answer in court for his alleged role in the sex crime’s concealment, but he’ll do it from Cleveland under the protective arms of Irish Catholic Prosecuting Attorney Michael O’Malley.

O’Malley was Mason’s #2 when he asked Corrigan to seal the 496 Cleveland Diocese sex cases.  Mason then went on to maliciously prosecute Protestant Christians, Muslims and Jews for the same crimes he’d aided Catholics in hiding.  Their “caste-like” acts obstructed the justice Catholic victims and their families sought.

When he arrived in Cleveland to replace Bishop Richard Lennon in 2016, Bishop Nelson Perez released the names of 51 local Catholic officials in 2018 who’d been confirmed as sexual predators by the church, but whose identities and crimes had been sealed by Corrigan and Mason.  Perez did not ask the Court of Common Pleas to identify all 496 names Corrigan ordered sealed at Mason’s request.

445 Catholic sex offender names are still concealed.  Perez wasn’t from the Cleveland area so he might not have known about the local politics Mason and Corrigan engaged in that made John Paul II look dirty.  Malesic, once he learns of the local Catholic conspiracy should publicly seek to undo it.

It won’t make up for his handling of Father Joseph E. Bonafed in his “church law” investigation that cleared him after 28 years of child abuse allegations.

Eric Jonathan Brewer

Cleveland's most influential journalist and East Cleveland's most successful mayor is an East Saint Louis, Illinois native whose father led the city's petition drive in 1969 to elect the first black mayor in 1971. Eric is an old-school investigative reporter whose 40-year body of editorial work has been demonstrably effective. No local journalist is feared or respected more.

Trained in newspaper publishing by the legendary Call & Post Publisher William Otis Walker in 1978 when it was the nation's 5th largest Black-owned publication, Eric has published and edited 13 local, regional and statewide publications across Ohio. Adding to his publishing and reporting resume is Eric's career in government. Eric served as the city's highest paid part-time Special Assistant to ex-Cleveland Mayor Michael R. White. He served as Chief of Staff to ex-East Cleveland Mayor Emmanuel Onunwor; and Chief of Communications to the late George James in his capacity as the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority's first Black executive director. Eric was appointed to serve as a member of the state's Financial Planning & Supervision Commission to guide the East Cleveland school district out of fiscal emergency and $20 million deficit. Former U.S. HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson told Eric in his D.C. office he was the only mayor in the nation simultaneously-managing a municipal block grant program. Eric wrote the city's $2.2 million Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant application. A HUD Inspector General audit of his management of the block grant program resulted in "zero" audit findings.

As a newspaper publisher, Eric has used his insider's detailed knowledge of government and his publications to lead the FBI and state prosecutors to investigations that resulted in criminal prosecutions of well-known elected officials in Ohio; and have helped realign Cleveland's political landscape with the defeat of candidates and issues he's exposed. Eric's stories led to the indictments of the late Governor George Voinovich's brother, Paul Voinovich of the V Group, and four associates. He asked the FBI to investigate the mayor he'd served as chief of staff for public corruption; and testified in three federal trials for the prosecution. He forced former Cuyahoga County Coroner Dr. Elizabeth Balraj to admit her investigations of police killings were fraudulent; and to issue notices to local police that her investigators would control police killing investigations. Eric's current work has resulted in Cuyahoga County Judge John Russo accepting the criminal complaint he guided an activist to file against 24 civil rights-violating police officers in the city he once led for operating without valid peace officer credentials. USA Today reporters picked up on Eric's police credentials reporting from his social media page and made it national.

Eric is the author of of his first book, "Fight Police License Plate Spying," which examines the FBI and local police misuse of the National Crime Information Center criminal records history database. An accomplished trumpet player and singer whose friendship with Duke Fakir of the Four Tops resulted in his singing the show's closing song, "Can't Help Myself": Curtis Sliwa of New York's Guardian Angels counts Eric among his founding chapter leaders from the early 1980's role as an Ohio organizer of over 300 volunteer crime fighters in Cleveland, Columbus and Youngstown, Ohio. For his work as a young man Eric was recognized by Cleveland's Urban League as it's 1983 Young Man of the Year.

Known in Cleveland for his encyclopedic knowledge of government and history, and intimately-connected with the region's players, every local major media outlet in Cleveland has picked up on one of Eric's stories since 1979. There is no mainstream newspaper, television or radio outlet in Cleveland that does not include an interview with Eric Jonathan Brewer in its archives over the past 40 years.
